Climate Change

Turning a threat into an opportunity.

The debate is over. Climate change is happening… largely as a result of human activity. However, you don’t need to be a scientist to understand the scope of the damage. There are visible signs all around us, including:

  • Floods
  • Wildfires
  • Droughts
  • Melting ice in the Artic

And the situation may become worse. Scientists have long warned that 400 parts per million (ppm) of CO2 marked the point of no return, and we recently reached that limit in May 2016.

In other words, it might already be too late. And we need to begin preparing ourselves for:

  • More severe weather
  • Lower crop yields
  • Resource wars
  • Mass extinction

It doesn’t get any gloomier than that.

However, there is good news.

Together – we can stop climate change

The situation may seem overwhelming. And perhaps it is too late. But at Co-operative Energy Saving, we believe that we should do everything we can to assist in tackling climate change.

Climate change is a result of human activity, meaning that it took billions of individual actions to bring us to this point. This also means that through billions of positive actions, it’s possible to reduce or even reverse the damage.

Better still, the tools already exist – you can even begin using them in your home today. And far from being costly, green solutions like energy efficiency and solar power actually save you money. Contact the Co-operative Energy Saving team now and see how we can assist you.

Climate change is arguably the greatest threat our species has ever faced. It has the potential to destroy more lives than all of the world’s wars, diseases, and famines combined. However, we view this moment as an opportunity to begin making green investments that pay for themselves – both financially and environmentally.
